Ansi, having gladly accepted the invite to stay at the Ponderosa for the week - and who wouldn't?

We, :ben :adam :hoss :candy :roy :doc and of course not forgetting :hopsing1 were all concerned that Little Joe wouldn't make it home for Christmas.

Thankfully, he arrived back late last night, though he looked as if he had been dragged backwards through a passel of hedges.

Hoss remarked it didn't much matter whether it was backwards or forwards - Shortshanks just looked like he needed his bed. We all wanted to know what had been the delay but, Hoss was right.

This morning, waiting for Joe to come down for breakfast I convinced Mr Cartwright to let me give his youngest a gentler awakening than I feared he would get from his brother's.

My first knock was none too loud the second must've taken Joe by surprise, he sat up with such a jolt he smacked his head on the bedpost. He then goes and accuses me - I mean, would moi? A smacker ansi sure would give the man but, on the lips, not the head!

"How did I get here?" he asks.

What could I say, except, "Up the stairs?"

Then he goes on to say ... "Did it happen? Was it all a dream?"

I tells him he could let me know about it later - coz if he didn't get down to breakfast he'd sure know about it now!
