GS POD 25 May - Men in Uniform

In Honor of Memorial Day,
I will present a few Guest Stars who appeared in uniform.

Tracy / The Gentle Ones
We begin the week with Major Dawson and his daughter, Dana.
Dana is played by Lana Wood (Natalie's sister) but her father is played by Douglas Henderson (1919-1978) who was in no less than three Bonanza episodes: The Gentle Ones, The Unseen Wound and Five Sundowns to Sunup.
A popular man, our Mr. Henderson, as his list of characters covers over three decades. Although a frequent face in television, he also starred in The Manchurian Candidate (1962), The Americanization of Emily (1964) and The Sandpiper (1965).
In a lesser known movie, King Dinosaur (1955), young Doug Henderson rescued a female costar from two nine foot boa constrictors. Really, it seems that the snake wrangler lost control of his slippery friends on the set.
Not bad for a Jersey boy.
