I'm new to this site and wanted to let you know a little bit about myself:
I'm a 50 year old female who remembers gathering around our new color TV from Sears to watch Bonanza for many years. We all had our favorites. Mom loved Hoss and Ben. She grew up on a farm in PA and still lives there today. She felt like Ben did and protects her land, and loves her animals every bit as much as Hoss. My brothers were Little Joe fans because he sure could shoot fast. (I can't begin to tell you how many times they declared me dead before I ever had a chance to draw my imaginary weapon!) Adam was the one I would dream about in my early years. My dad loved Sheriff Coffee. And dad sure did know most of the guest stars and supporting characters from shows he had watched. That sure was fun family TV back then. Even if we didn't have remote controls, VCRs, DVD's or the internet.
Thanks to Hallmark, I got reconnected with LHOTP and the Walton's. That led to my curiosity regarding Bonanza. I stumbled upon a Bejules upload over on the utube area. I found a wonderful Bonanza episode guide on the internet and went to town learning all I could about each episode. Somehow I stumbled over here and started reading your forums. I had no idea there were others that were even more obsessed than me with this stuff! This is truly a wonderful site. It keeps me up a bit late (sometimes until 4:00 am)! You folks are very clever and much more experienced with computers than I am.
I never met any of the actors or any actor for that matter. I've just enjoyed what they provided to us all thru television. I do admit the bloopers and comedic finds always make me laugh. Last night I was in a fit of giggles as I saw for the first time Little Joe poking Hoss's head while Pa was checking him over for bumps after he fell down the stairs in "Hoss and the Leprechaun"!!
Well, that's probably a lot more than you wanted to know. I look forward to learning more as I delve into your wonderful site.
