I thought that I had seen all of the Bonanza Episodes, obviously not because this one didn't ring a bell.
A very sad but so true in those days and in some places even now.
Hoss is leaving on a two month vacation.
"Wish I had two months vacation."
"Well if you work for two years without taking any vacation, you too could have two months off."Hoss leaves quickly before Joe cons him ,out his vacation time. He is going fishing for the whole time, or so he thinks.
Hoss stops in to a store, where he sees the owner trying to teach his parrot to say "How do friend ,can I help you?"
As he is waiting to get his supplies, he comes upon a child hiding .The child runs way,as the store keeper returns.
Shakes his head "All he takes, is a candle."
