Ponderosa Penny. I believe the episode with the horse Ponderosa Penny in was called 'A Natural Wizard' from season 7. The mare was indeed about to foal and was having problems and they had to call out the vet. There are some captures from that episode in the gallery.

I am going to have to watch the Natural Wizard to check out the name. That episode would have aired in 1966-67 season and I adopted my horse in July of 1966. I think I would have already seen the episode when I got the horse. (I feel like the episiode detective!) And I am having fun with this. Thanks.
