January 1973 ~ 40 Years Ago

'The BonanzEra'

The Cartwrights 14 years 'rein' on 'The Ponderosa' was over.

Series 14 ~ Episode 428 ~ 'The Hunter' the last chapter, the finale.

This week we are going to travel back over those 14 years, we are going to see Little Joe as he was on the 12th September 1959, when he burst onto the small screen with his brothers Adam and Hoss and his Pa, we are going to ride with him through those fourteen years to 16th January 1973.
The legend of 'Bonanza' had begun...and 'boy oh boy' was l much more than glad. :very happy

Caps from first and episode 32 the last epsiodes 1 & 32

Pilot, introductory episode slammed by the critics, wouldn't last they said...what did they know? What did they say 32 episodes later?

It became very soon obvious this was not an ordinary Cowboys and Indians, gun-slinger, the good guy rides off into the horizon, Western series.
This was a series of stories about a family, father and sons who loved and cared for each other.
