Was that a Bonanza question?
Yeah, for sure, they're the only ones I answer! :laughing
Oh, you must do other things as well! I bet you do! ) :joe
Ah yeah, no, I meant on YouTube I only look at Bz stuff and answer Bz questions. :thumbup

Saw this again today, one of my very all-time favourite eps. I love at the beginning, outside the courthouse, the way that Ben moves protectively to stand behind Joe. I love the way Hoss casually shoves the guy in the bar out of the way so he can get the poster he has put up behind the bar. I love the way Hoss lays down the law to Joe and tells him to go home and he'll deal with finding the men to dig the ditches, I love it when he gets all protective and authoritative and the way that Joe does what he says. I was intrigued by the guy from the stage, he kept cropping up all over the ep, randomly standing and watching what everyone was doing! :shrug Not sure why Zak's dad had an extra shovel just standing there ready for Joe to grab up when he was already using one in the hole! :shrug Also thought it funny when he called Joe a 'growing boy', thought's he'd done growing myself. :laughing

Michael was one of the writers but was just starting to branch out and hadn't started directing yet. I love that the lady trying to have him killed was named Linda Roberts. It's obvious where her last name came from. It's a pretty good episode but it was scary the first time I saw this [ in my teens] when Joe was trapped in the well! Poor Joe. He was trying to help the man. :sad

Watched this episode today and really liked it. Michael Landon did such a good job showing the emotional side of Joe in this episode, and that single tear after Mr. Crenshaw's breakdown :sob I loved the JPM at the beginning of this episode with Ben putting his arm around Joe. Shows the relationship that Ben had with Little Joe.

When Joe was helping Mr. Crenshaw dig the well I honestly thought he was helping dig his own grave. I also was waiting for us to find out the stew at the end was poisoned or something, although that wouldn't have been a fair fight.

Overall a pretty good episode! :thumbup

I love this ep, it's one of my faves and the moment with the single tear, the first time I saw that, I kept rewinding again and agian, it was so effective! :thumbup

Did you ever finish this, ansinico?

We just watched this ep and when I read your comment aloud both girls started yelling their support. Becca: "Yeah, not only that, but he had the main character vest on!"

He was just there to make the viewer wonder -- a total red herring. And a financially efficient one, too -- the audience noticed him and he initially provided a distraction, but they didn't have to pay the actor much because he didn't talk! :grin

I like this episode, even though itgets a bit spooky sometimes. This is one of the first episodes Michael wrote but he didn't direct yet. His writing was usually really clever and well thought out. :thumbup :yes

Haha, yeah. Whose vest (or waistcoat in English-speak) is that, Ben's?

He does have one line, he says, "I'll be glad to help you with that," so not so cheap! :laughing
Reminds me a bit of the guy in The Horse Traders who keeps on saying 'good morning' to Meena. He crops up loads of times randomly, but then he is actually acknowledged at the end because her father says something like, "That's the fifth time that guy has said good morning to you, wonder what he's up to?" and Meena says, "Number six." :laughing
