Cap from the Gallery
Jean was born in Los Angeles in 1923. She began appearing in small roles in movies in the 40s; most of her first appearances were uncredited, but in the late 40s and early 50s she began to play larger roles. She tended to be cast as a tough girl and played a lot of saloon girls in Westerns. She was on The Virginian, Maverick, Wanted: Dead or Alive, and Zorro, among many others. She appeared in Ocean's Eleven and The King and Four Queens. She is probably best known for her role in Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Jean was a friendly woman who was well-liked by the people she worked with. She continued acting until 1976. She passed away from liver cancer in 1989.
A quote from Jean: "I seem to get along with everybody and that helps because in TV it's always a tight schedule. You've heard the crack about the TV producer who got impatient because some actress wasn't satisfied with a scene. "Look", he shouted, "I don't want it good--I want it Thursday". Well, that's the way it is in a lot of these TV series."
