I'm already in the middle of it! :laughing Only I've altered the course of events.
Wait a minute, wait a minute. What you're saying is that at your age, you don't know the difference between a girl and a horse?

Sorry. I just noticed this.

I wouldn't veto anyone wanting to write such a story. If you're inspired, feel free to do so. :yes
I'm already in the middle of it! :laughing However, I've altered the course of events, as that episode, well, let's just say the first version I wrote was so horrible, my mother and I ripped to pieces!

I re-watched this episode last night, and listened to the commentary by Andy Klyde. He spoke of later on when Mitch Vogel joined the cast, saying that the dining room scenes hardly ever passed without escalating into a food fight between Dan and Michael. Peas were in their noses, mashed potatoes in the hair, etc.. Lorne and Victor Sen Yung did not participate, but Mr. Klyde said that Victor would keep a supply of lollipops on hand for the young visitors to the set.

This has got to be one of the funniest episodes in Bonanza history. I not only chuckled but laughed out loud several times. I loved when pa was scolding the boys for not coming back on time from town. I felt Hoss's headache. At the end when Hoss and Joe knock out pa, Clem and the bank robbers and Hoss starts crying when he realizes he and Joe knocked out pa and Clem, is comedy gold. Dan and Mike are great in this episode.

This is Joe/Hoss comedy at it's best! Michael was one of the writers and it was his idea to put in the "POW" and "WHAM" while Hoss and Joe were beating up their pa and sheriff Coffee! :rotfl

Honestly, this silly episode makes me laugh every time, but I think it would have been even funnier had it taken place earlier in the series. I find Joe and Hoss's characters portrayed as more mature by season eight, and this episode knocks them back quite a bit in my eyes.

Again, it is cleverly written and acted, and it does make me laugh. I adore Clem and Ben in this one, and the hang-over scene back at the Ponderosa is priceless. Lorne looks as if he is about to laugh several times, and it make me wish there were outtakes!
I watched it yesterday. I don't know how they managed to get through that scene without laughing.

I had to go back and listen to this again! I know Dan and Mike always loved to instigate most of the silliness but some Pernell also did his share and sometimes instigated some of it. Those 'boys' loved to play and actually scared a few guests. :ha

I have an idea that they used to play many pranks on the lord of the Ponderosa as well.
