When I heard that the Breeder's Cup races were to be held at Santa Anita this year, I held my breath. There have been many breakdowns at that track this year, and, as the preliminary races were on this past Friday and Saturday, I was hoping that skein would be broken. No such luck! In the Classic, Mongolian Groom fractured his left hind leg, and it was decided to euthanize him. Not only was I hoping for safe trips for everybody, I am sure the track officials were also, not only for the horses' sake, but because of all the bad publicity that seemingly jinxed track has accumulated. Your thoughts?
