Dawn Wells actually was from Nevada--she grew up in Reno and was Miss Nevada in 1960. Most of her acting over the decades was on stage, but she also appeared in quite a few TV shows and movies. She is best known for playing the part of Mary Ann Summers on Gilligan's Island. Dawn is still alive and was still voice acting as recently as 2019.
