Merry Anders (born Mary Helen Anderson; on May 22, 1934, died October 28, 2012) was an American actress who appeared in a number of television programs and films from the 1950s until her retirement from the screen in 1972. In 1954, she succeeded Ann Todd as Stu Erwin's daughter in the final season of his television series, The Stu Erwin Show.
In the 1955-1956 season, she joined Janis in the 26-week sitcom It's Always About Jan. From 1957-1959, Anders co-starred with Barbara Eden and Lori Nelson in How to Marry a Millionaire, The three played young women living in New York City and trying to land wealthy husbands.
In the latter 1950s and 1960's Anders made numerous television appearances, including The Real McCoys and Dragnet were she played policewoman Dorothy Miller in seven episodes. She made four guest appearances in Lassie, four on 77 Sunset Strip, and three times on Perry Mason. Anders left show business in 1972 to work for a division of Litton Industries where she remained until her retirement in 1994. Her last screen role was as Shirley in the two-part episode "Waste" on Gunsmoke.
She married John Stephens March 22, 1955 and divorced June 24, 1957 and had one child, a daughter with him.
She continued acting in the 1970s by registering for at least one class at Los Angeles Valley College each year in order to appear in a college play. Among her credits was "The Glass Menagerie", and playing her daughter was the soon-to-be-famous TV actress Christopher Norris.

Some other credits were Movies, Les Miserables in 1952, The Desk Set 1957, The Gambler Wore a Gun 1961, and Tickle Me 1965.
Television shows among others are Sugarfoot, Maverick, Hawaiian Eye, The Addams Family and Get Smart.

Nearly 30 years later after her divorce she married Richard Benedict on September 21, 1985 and they were married until his death on May 17, 1999.
