I always thought it was ironic that the yankee Adam was played by a southerner from Georgia, and the southern Little Joe was played by a northerner from New Jersey.

I think he would have traveled more than he does on the series and would have had interests beyond the Ponderosa but I don't see him severing ties completely with it. When Ben left the Ponderosa after Marie's death, I don't think he would have just dumped the responsibility for running the ranch and...
