Re: Episode 22 - BLOOD ON THE LAND

I had to look up Robert Thompson, the writer. He also wrote "Vendetta" and "Mission". It appears he liked the gritty, almost despairing style of writing. "They Shoot Horses, Don't They", is very memorable to me. Writing for Bonanza came very early in his career. I'd guess that the characters were s...

Re: Episode 88 - THE JACKKNIFE

I could have sworn I commented somewhere on Boomers about this episode! Oh well! One of my favorite episodes forAdam. This has such sweet moments for Adam with Jody! Adam provides a very good example for. Jody to look up to and Jody has a good repore with him. Donald Losby is great as Jody! I too th...

Re: Episode 22 - BLOOD ON THE LAND

It is quite the insult for a southerner to call a man a boy. It definitely rubbed PR the wrong way and I feel that's why. I notice a few times when the line “next time don’t send a boy to do a man’s work “ is used in the series. Once by Adam with Lotta, although he says it a bit different. This is t...

Re: Episode 108 - KNIGHT ERRANT

Wow! People are bringing up a lot of intriguing points I hadn't thought of...like what happened to those goats? :laughing It does seem like a huge favor for Hoss to do, traveling four days each way to pick up Walter's bride (and a huge favor from all the Cartwrights, who would have to do without Ho...

Re: Episode 77 - DAY OF THE DRAGON

Ahh, my favorite Joe episode. I really liked all the Cartwrights in this episode and Su Ling was very sweet. I thought the music for this episode was beautiful and of course there was a nice balance of comedy and drama. I very much enjoyed Lisa Lu's commentary on the DVD. It was delightful and very ...

Re: Episode 108 - KNIGHT ERRANT

A decent episode but as several people pointed out it has story holes. You would think since she had agreed to marry Walter and was expecting him she would have made arrangements to sell any livestock before his arrival. She was a mess and you would think she would have had her hair in braids or pul...

Re: Episode 32 - DEATH AT DAWN

This is the best episode from season 1. I have watched it many times. The acting in it is superb. It was well put together. So many episodes have big plot holes, but this one is just right with story, acting, tension and outcome. The dialog is good too, not a cringe worthy moment at all. Some good q...
