Re: Brave Eagle 1955 - 1956

Seeing that I was born not quite 2 weeks before I was born, I have no recollection of this show. I don’t even remember it repeated with th much older shows like Fury, Roy Rogers or The Lone Ranger on Saturday Adventure Theater in the early mornings. They didn’t give it much of a chance! How in the w...

Re: Episode 171 - THE WILD ONE

A Hoss episode. Years ago, when I still had cable TV, I did not like "The Wild One." Mostly because it seemed like it had a choppy narrative, and I thought TVLand--in its infinite wisdom--had cut out scenes. Watching it now, uncut on those glorious DVDs, the episode is not choppy, but it's still no...

Re: Episode 7 - THE SAGA OF ANNIE O'TOOLE

This episode from the first season seemed like much of the first season ,an experiment. I think they were trying out all kinds and styles of acting and performances. This one had Pernell doing a narrative and the performances from everyone seemed more theatrical. I do like this comedic episode and h...

Re: Episode 187 - THE FLANNEL-MOUTH GUN

I always thought the clock would have been something Marie bought and perhaps had voodoo images from New Orleans. It does look babyish. I never saw it so close up before, so I thought it was a skull. :shrug So now, I don’t know. I believe one of the larger ranchers Simpson is trying to acquire more ...

Re: Episode 175 - A DIME'S WORTH OF GLORY

The episode is an interesting contrast to "Enter Mark Twain", a writer in the old west, but with quite a different slant and message to his tall tales. I also think the saloon shove would have been not such a big thing, certainly not deserving of calling in the law. I suspect Sheriff Coffee would h...

Re: Episode 175 - A DIME'S WORTH OF GLORY

Many enjoyable scenes in this episode. It was well shot and many caps show up interesting and superb. The story is fairly simple with no real twists. I do like the actors in this show. Charles Maxwell can do a great bad guy yet he can appear vulnerable. Bruce Cabot does fine job of being lead around...

Re: Episode 176 - SQUARE DEAL SAM

This episode is not a favorite of mine. It is pleasant but no real scene touches me for any character. I don’t hate it, but no great quote to remember, no tug at the heart, no big social point. There are no big laughs, so not a great comedy. Even though all the Cartwrights are conned it isn’t that f...
