Re: The Big Valley - Family dynamics

I've been watching some of The Big Valley episodes lately. I haven't seen the show in years. In some ways it is like Bonanza, but I think there is too much temptation to call it "Bonanza with a matriarch instead of a patriarch." For one thing, Victoria Barkley didn't have three husbands. She had one...

Re: Episode 37 - THE HOPEFULS

Interesting thoughts...well, there was the blonde Ruth. But there has been some speculation here that she may have just been a fever induced dream caused by Adam's injury. But then again, why was he injured? Who was he defending on that 'Mountain of the Dead'? The whole "keeping the Cartwrights sing...

Re: Episode 37 - THE HOPEFULS

This is my favorite Adam romance. I see where you might think that Regina was going to be the new leader. But yes, I doubt it too. Their leader wouldn't be a woman. I got the impression that Matthew was Jacob Darien's assistant and might be next in line. I thought Regina was feeling a loyalty to her...

All funny episodes! Don't forget "Woman of Fire." "Senor Adam, the bed fixer."

His sparring with Margarita is perfectly timed comedy, so funny. :laughing

Re: Episode 136 - A PASSION FOR JUSTICE

One of my favorite episodes. I enjoyed Jonathan Harris as Charles Dickens. He was so correct in being angry about people appropriating his work. I liked his explanation to Hoss. But one of those little trivia things in this episode bothers me. Joe was reading the article which criticized "Mr. Dicken...

Re: Episode 44 - THE SAVAGE

But the Cartwrights always WERE the exception. Only they could ride in from a cattle drive looking like they had just came from a Vidal Sassoon salon. [/quote] Have you seen Larame, Rawhide,Lancer? I could go on. All very spruced up most of the time. I think it was a 60's thing. It wasn't until the...

Re: Episode 44 - THE SAVAGE

I just want to know where Ruth found her hairspray. Maybe the Aquanet cans are in that humongous trunk she dragged behind on a travois while she lived with the Indians. :rotfl :lol You really cracked me up! :laughing Ruth did have great hair for a woman who lived alone in a cave on a mountain. When...

Re: Episode 44 - THE SAVAGE

Very interesting point about Adam saying to both women, "Let it go." I don't want to generalize, but a lot of men seem to have trouble dealing with a woman's very deep feelings. So they just say "let it go". They really don't know what else to say. And it wasn't just part of the era that Adam lived ...
