Re: Episode 82 - THE TALL STRANGER

I agree with all that's been said that Hoss didn't really put that big of a beating on Connors. Hoss could have. He could have killed him too, but deep down Hoss's hatred for him was tempered by his morals. He felt such disgust and contempt for Connors that he wanted to make him pay in some way. i t...

Re: Episode 7 - THE SAGA OF ANNIE O'TOOLE

January- don't you KNOW that "everywhere" is close to the Ponderosa? :grin The fellas could make it to town and back twice in one day. Laura Dayton's ranch appeared to be just over the hill. Aunt Lil took a ride over and got there in no time. In fact, all their friends seemed to be a stone's throw a...

Re: Episode 176 - SQUARE DEAL SAM

I don't think the rest of the C's were surprised at Hoss's behavior. In "The Scapegoat", they talk about Hoss always "bringing home strays". The Washburns hardly looked like a dangerous duo anyway. :grin In "The Frenchman", Joe invited Francois to stay at the Ponderosa and he had just threatened to ...

Re: Episode 178 - OLD SHEBA

Wow that's some interesting story about Dan Blocker. I'll bet Old Sheba was one of the few animals strong enough to toss him fifteen feet! :grin It's a funny episode. But Joe and Hoss were pretty dumb in this one. :yes Did they really think they could use an elephant as a "workhorse"? And where were...

Re: The Barkleys Were in Danger When they Left the Ranch

THAT photo. Suddenly I understand where my liking for Han Solo came from (yes, I mean in the '77 original). What did Laura do, really? What did Laura DO? Well apparently she spent a lot of time hating her husband! :grin She seemed like a pretty cold woman and when he sought "comfort" elsewhere, it ...

Re: The Barkleys Were in Danger When they Left the Ranch

So true, nothing ever rattled Victoria Barkley! She was thrown from horses, punched and had guns pointed at her and she never lost her cool. I think she was the type of character that Bonanza had in mind when they said that Laura Dayton would be a tough, no nonsense frontier woman. But unfortunately...

The Barkleys Were in Danger When they Left the Ranch

I have been watching some of The Big Valley lately and it occurred to me that the Barkleys had the same problem as the Cartwrights when they venture away from the family home. They get kidnapped, robbed, beaten, shanghaied, etc. It's a wonder these people ever ventured far from home. :grin In an epi...

Re: The Big Valley

I just watched a few episodes and it seems like Heath got shot or beaten up in every one. But for a guy who sustained so many injuries he came back the next week to look like a GQ cover model. :grin Not a mark on his pretty face or totally ripped body. :no

Re: The Big Valley - Family dynamics

I just recently watched the first few episodes, it's been years...Yes Audra tried to flirt with Heath. I do think she was testing him to see if he was who he said he was. Nick was the resident "hothead" on the show, but he grew to love his half brother pretty quickly. In fact all the Barkleys displa...

Re: The Big Valley - Family dynamics

Oh yes, Eugene. I DID forget about him. lol I watched The Big Valley when I was a little kid and I didn't remember Eugene. It was just last year when I started to watch the episodes on youtube that I saw him again and remembered him. Since the actor was on briefly I am sure that they could have reca...
