Re: Episode 70 - THE LONELY HOUSE

Andy Klyde brought this episode up in another thread recently, mentioning that it was originally an Adam story but was rewritten because of an injury that prevented Pernell Roberts from filming that week. I've often thought that this episode still feels like an Adam story: off alone on business for ...

Re: Episode 84 - THE RIDE

Good old Roy does seem to have a soft spot where tearful young ladies are concerned. It's like he loses the ability to reason through a situation and can't imagine that they could be capable of ulterior motives. Thankfully this particular young lady had a conscience. Mary is really the hero in the e...

Re: Episode 84 - THE RIDE

This is one of my favorite episodes. I love seeing stubborn Adam stand on his convictions. Thinking he can prove Bill's guilt by making the ride fast enough is quite illogical, of course...I like to imagine that it's more psychologically motivated, going after Bill till he slips up and makes a damag...

Re: Episode 114 - THE JURY

I agree completely. I like the low-key interactions in Adam-and-Hoss scenes. One on one, Adam usually takes Hoss seriously and doesn't just blow him off as a younger brother. And Hoss understands Adam well, better than Ben or Joe does, in my opinion. He intuits some of the things Adam doesn't say ou...

Wow, that's right. She lost her sister and her father. And she still seemed to be carrying a lot of bitterness from her mother's death and the difficult years following.

Re: Episode 187 - THE FLANNEL-MOUTH GUN

It seems to wax and wane. Personally, I start to notice the first signs in Season Three, but it doesn't wholly settle in till the end of Five. He actually has some energetic performances in Six, but often they're a bit hyped, as though it's a release of nervous energy. Almost reverting to a stage pe...

Re: Episode 187 - THE FLANNEL-MOUTH GUN

The concept for this idea was good. More historical and less far-fetched than some. I like seeing more neighbors, more ranchers, more local color. But the execution left things to be desired. Adam strikes me as tired and depressed. Throughout the first six seasons of Bonanza there's healthy, happy A...
