Re: Episode 120 - MARIE, MY LOVE

I well recall seeing this episode when it was originally aired in 1963 (and the summer rerun) and Marie's actual fall off a horse and death was never shown.....only talked about by Ben. I have read (might have been in an old Bonanza Gold mag) that they wanted to do another episode with Felica Farr a...

Re: Episode 121 - THE HAYBURNER

Love this episode and Alex Sharp wrote it so well. It allowed the brothers to be humoursly "petty" and competetive amongst themselves and less the "noble" Cartwrights, haha. Gave them the opportunity for great facial expressions also. Yes, Alex indeed surpassed some of the more "professional" script...

This is one of my favorite episodes, especially being a Joegal. Love the scene where Hoss brings a towel to Cal and then makes a startling discovery. :laughing

Re: Episode 101 - THE FIRST BORN

I agree with Cowgirlatheart about this episode. I really like this episode and the emotional bang it packs for Joe especially. Yes, I'm glad that Clay didn't stay, as the thrust of Bonanza was the love and bond among the C's. They were all men of good character and our heroes. While Clay was a great...

I agree.......and she emotionally like a child also. She lived in this dreamworld. Don't think she would have made a suitable mate for Joe in many ways.

Re: The Rifleman

Chuck Connors looked very much the Rifleman, but he was from Brooklyn, NY and his real name was Joseph White. I always thought it was amazing how he got those blue jeans to fit oh so perfectly :ha

Re: Episode 120 - MARIE, MY LOVE

"The jealous ex-lover tracking Marie down is far more intriguing than death by horse. Especially since there were only hints about her mysterious past dropped now and then." Oh yes, that would have been a better plot, IMHO, also. Marie was a beautiful woman, who would have had many potential admirer...

Re: Episode 194 - THE TRAP

Totally agreed Cowgirl. As a matter of fact, I feel like the first time I watched this episode, I said to myself, "Now we get to see a Joe, Pa happy moment", or something equivalent. And it never happened. :rotfl Had the very same reaction when I first viewed this episode back in the 60s.......majo...
